WHO IS MIMI JOCSON?

Missver “Mimi” Jocson was born and raised in Peru for 15 years before moving to the United States. She graduated from Hunter College in New York with a BS in Medical Laboratory Sciences and went to the top of her field before realizing something was missing in her life. She found the power of Yoga while working at a hospital in New York City. Burnt out and overwhelmed by juggling the roles of mother, wife and provider, her yoga practice became a safe space that allowed her to focus on her breath and intention for each particular posture. It helped center her into what is commonly referred to as the “present moment”, the “NOW”.
After 10 years of Yoga practice, the hustle and bustle of city living, and the sudden arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mimi decided that a big change was needed in her life. She moved to Clermont, FL and enrolled in an intensive 200 hour Yoga teacher training program to become a certified Yoga Instructor and share the benefits of Yoga with her new community.
Her training is from the Lakulish Lineage - Tantric Kundalini Yoga through Red Sun Yoga located in Winter Springs, Florida.
Mimi’s classes combine awareness of the breath as well as intention to gently move the body in order to bring Body, Mind, and Spirit into alignment. Her classes focus on the Yoga branch of physical exercise, Hatha Yoga.
This Yoga style class sequence is based upon Ashtanga Yoga which features flowing movement called vinyasas that connect breath and movement. The breath is central to this practice and movement is its expression. This style follows a universal sequence that students gradually learn, progressing in skill and ability, scalable to wherever they are in their Life journey. Classes open with Sun Salutations followed by standing poses, seated poses, backbends, inversions and finally a relaxation pose. Possible benefits of this class are enhanced stress management through conscious awareness of one’s Body, Mind, and Soul through the Breath and Movement.
